Imaginal Techniques #2
This episode is for anyone who heard the last imaginal technique episode and may be encountering our good friends fear, doubt, anxiety and fear.
Did I mention fear?
These states of consciousness are all controlled by threshold guardians who are total dicks.
The good news is those ominous guardians can be conquered with relative ease.

I'm re-recording this because I did it before and it cut off and I don't know where it is, so I'm just gonna do it again, fuck it.
We'll do it live below Riley. Welcome, this is gonna be another episode about imagination, so it's a solo cast. We will have a normal guest on Stephen Campman later this week. We talk about dreams and what's cool about dreams, what's cool about dreaming, I should say, is this life is essentially a dream. I often remind myself, this is the dream, referring to waking life and my imagination is reality, just to kind of snap myself back into the reality of the situation. So what's cool about dreams when we talk about this a lot, I talk about it a lot with Stephen, is that we can start using some of the dream symbolism and tools that we use and apply to our actual dreams when we go to sleep and apply it to this world and see how it works, so we really delve into that and it's, he's cool if you haven't listened to him before.
Shout out to Mikey Kamek, cool fucking dad, dude, awesome. But this episode, we're gonna be talking about states of consciousness, how to move through them, how to deal with things like depression, anxiety, doubt, fear, let's call them threshold guardians, and here's the thing about threshold guardians, they're fucking nasties, they're meanies, they don't wanna let you get the shit that you know you're supposed to have to be happy and fulfilled and the peace, fucking dicks, right? But here's the other thing, they're also you and you're setting them up because it can be scary and things can come up if you recognize who you really are and what your true potential is.
So how do we deal with this stuff, that's great Noah, great for telling us what that fear and doubt and anxiety are bad, you're fucking genius, how do you deal with it? So you deal with it by moving from states of consciousness and how do you do that? Well, here's the thing, I used to think it was super fucking hard, I've had abrupt mood changes before but I didn't feel I had any control. So here's what you do, oh, how do you think you do it? What do you think? You do it with your imagination, silly, that's how you do it. So what you do is this, you use the imaginal technique that I went over in the previous episode and you imagine, let's say you have anxiety, let's say you're neurotic, let's say you really just obsess about things and you know it's not good, let's say you understand even that imagination creates reality and you can't stop having bad thoughts, oh my God, what are you gonna do?
There's something you can do. So you're gonna use the technique, you're gonna load it up and you're gonna imagine yourself as not being afraid of those things, not being nervous, not having falling bouts of depression or even mental illness or even physical stuff, I know that's pretty out there but it works too. So how do you do this, right? How does this work? What are, these are questions that people have. So here's how you do it. You do the same technique as the previous episode, you find a scene that implies the state that you are moving from has been completed. So you move from a state of, let's say depression or anxiety towards you imagining a scene that says you imply through a scene, maybe it goes, oh my gosh, I can't believe I'm never gonna be depressed again or I can't believe I don't get depressed about that again and start to the degree that you actually can believe.
If you don't think you'll never be depressed again from this, then you won't. But if you think maybe you can alleviate some aspect of your anxiety or depression or fear or doubt and stabilize some of these imaginal things you're creating, go ahead and do that. It's really powerful and it really does work. So this is something that kind of gets into the meta nature of how you can imagine stuff. And the way you can do that is, let's say you need some financial stability. Maybe you start targeting dollar amounts or Bitcoin amounts if you're smart. But that's kind of an ineffective route, I think. You should start at the place where you never have to worry about money again.
You have more than you need. You have more than abundance. And this sounds so fucking woo-hoo in New Age. I wanna kill myself, not just kidding, but it sounds so stupid, but it really is true. So how do you move out of a state of, let's say, not having enough and to having enough? And alarm bells should be going up for logical and rational people saying, wait a second, there's social injustices in the world. There are people who lived in depraved, dehorrible, deprived situations. And you're saying that people can just control this, control this with their mind. Thanks a lot, white dude, straight white dude.
Yeah, it must be real hard for you. Here's the thing, yeah, anyone can do it, but we are imagining some pretty terrible circumstances out there in the world. And if we want those things to change, we can't just outwardly condemn them because then we actually become more like the thing we're condemning inevitably over a long period of time. But more importantly, work on your own shit. Make sure you understand that imagination creates reality and that everything inside of you is being projected outwardly. And then once you have all these fucking amazing tools and skills and resources, then go out in the world and tackle problems.
Then go out and look at the big things and get your network of amazing people who understand this as well and start affecting some positive change. So this is a really valid technique where you can move from one mindset to another. And what you'll notice probably before any actual changes in your reality is a mental shift, a psychological shift, an emotional shift, something that triggered you before may not trigger you as much as it did earlier. So those are positive signs. You should definitely be encouraged by those that means you're on the right track, but let's say doubt creeps in. You understand this, but you can't just totally get it.
Just does not compute for some reason. Well, you can just imagine yourself understanding it. You do it for three, four days, tops, three days really. You're good to go. And then you met a basically program, all of these ideas and imaginations into your world to make you the version of yourself you wanna be. Now here's a word of caution. What you're essentially doing is committing psychic suicide. You're killing the version of yourself that was limited by the belief that materiality preceded anything else. This is a limiting belief, it's not accurate. So when you do it, your mind is gonna come in, your ego and all these things are gonna come in, and be like, nah fuck that, that's too much.
'Cause then all the responsibility is that on your feet, all of it, everything. Literally every choice you make is now placed at your feet. And that's a scary thing that people don't wanna face. Especially when they're used to blaming other people. If you wanna look at Donald Trump and blame him for being a horrible piece of shit and you get really emotional upset about it, let's be clear, he's doing horrible things. He's doing objectively horrible things. But if your reactivity hits fever pitch, that's you, my friend, that's in you. So work on it first in you, deal with all of those things. And then when you go out and wanna start overturning power structures or reclaiming better business practices and being fairer to women and people of color and all minorities and just literally letting everyone have a fair chance, you'll have the tools to do that both internal and external and that's fucking amazing.
That's the point of this stuff. Now another word of caution is this, when you commit psychic suicide, right? When you move from one state of consciousness to another, you're changing who you are. So close family, loved ones, friends, may not see the changes that you embody and are feeling yet and that can cause some friction. And let's say you notice a desire that's popping up and it's just like, it doesn't feel, not that it doesn't feel like you. I mean, this is gonna be a legitimate thing that's coming up for you, especially if it's really strong. But it doesn't feel like you're, it feels like you're maybe violating a natural law or something in this world, not like in a metaphysical sense, but maybe even in an ethical sense.
And I'm obviously not talking about like murder, don't murder people and like, "Yeah, that's okay." No, I said, "You just have to examine it." Talking about, mainly relational things and like I said, if you're committing psychic suicide, you're essentially murdering, (laughs) recount the murder again. Murdering or committing killing a part of yourself, right? It's this former version of yourself. And when that happens, you need to be aware that like different things can come up because it's that you're now a different person. You know, hopefully a more better, perfect version of yourself, but things can come up.
So let's say there's something coming up and it's just like, oh man, this is gonna radically change my life if I pursue this. The only thing I can say is this. If you examine it over and over again, look at all the real world implications and everything else, just really take an honest, hard look at it and you still have the desire and you still love it. And this is the Neville Goddard thing where he says, "You and I can contemplate an ideal and become it by falling in love with it." And that's real. That's really how this shit works. That's the secret thing that makes that whole imaginal technique work, it's love.
It really is. It's the thing that supercharges it. It makes it so great. So when I say it's a neutral tool, of course it is. We see evidence of bad things in the world and disharmony and all of that. So we know it's neutral, but the secret surprise is it's love. So if something like that comes up for you and you're struggling with those questions, you know, of ethical relativism and things like that, just you gotta pursue what you love. That's really what it comes down to. And if you are having doubt and are wondering, you know, what's the right path? Even if it feels like it's just, oh my gosh, just really what's happening, if you really love it and you know what I mean, then you gotta pursue it.
So these are tools. These are tips. These are tricks. I'm going through this shit. I'm experiencing it. So why wouldn't I share it? It'd be a dick move. Try not to be a dick. So use these techniques. Don't use these techniques. I don't know. Right in review this podcast, we're still even saying that. I don't even think I've been mentioning that. We have a regular episode coming up in two days. I was also just on Romine's podcast, Romine Nazer. He has an amazing podcast, Rainbow Brain School. So that's coming out soon. It was like a nice, perfect two hour and 22 minute podcast, my favorite type.
It's probably one of my lucky numbers. I love it. I don't know why. So that's coming out. Stay tuned for that. You'll be hearing a lot more of me, I'm sure. Go check out my podcast YouTube channel. The benevolent gift that is the MindPod Network YouTube channel for all involved. All involved. That's it. Go check out some other shows on MindPod Network. There's some new additions. There's some cool people. That's it. I'll see you in a couple of days. Bye bye. [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING]
