Drugs // Imagination // A Whole New World

0:00 / —:—

I already feel dirty calling substances like LSD, Cannabis and Mushrooms "drugs" but hey, it gets the point across.

But how do psychedelics fit within the truth that imagination precedes materiality?

Those things are material. What gives, Noah?

Here's the thing. While consciousness altering substances, rituals and any other healing modality you attempt actually work, the reality is all of these things work because we imagine them to work.

Remember, stable imaginal acts become facts.

This also explains why there are so many valid paths for discovering who you are.

Be it the Christian Mystic, Sufi, Tibetan Buddhist, South American Shaman or literally any other spiritual path that's out there, they're all talking about the same thing at the end of the day, just in different imaginal languages.

Don't let anyone tell you your way of discovering the true nature of things is wrong.

Find yourself, trust yourself and then dive in to a whole new world, Aladdin style.

(upbeat music) This is synchronicity. This is synchronicity. This is synchronicity. This is synchronicity. This is synchronicity. This is synchronicity. This is synchronicity. (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) Welcome to synchronicity. Another solo cast this week, but this is a fun one. It's not like super duper spiritual, I mean it is, but it's not like you gotta love everyone, man. You gotta be cool. You gotta be able to bring the projection to you. This is a more practical, beneficial, fun, interesting, relatable, hopefully. And we're gonna be talking today about drugs and imagination.

So again, we're operating from the principle that imagination, consciousness, your imagination, your consciousness, precedes external reality. If that's true, why do things in the world seem to work a certain way over and over, right? If we empirically test them and say, oh, this has this observable factors, principles, elements, you know, and other people see it and we all agree and we test it empirically, okay, there it is. Gravity is a thing, it moves at this speed, it's because of this. All right, so those are all what natural laws we'll call them, right? And this would apply of course to any substances we'd be ingesting, including organic ones or ones that are synthetic.

So ranging from your good old plant medicine, ayahuasca, which I've still never done, or LSD, right, completely synthetic. But what are they doing when people take them? Well, reliably we can see with a lot of psychedelics, a lot of drugs, even ones we wouldn't think of, alcohol included, put us in different states of consciousness, right? Or they seem to put us in different states of consciousness and they do, but my contention, my direct experience indicates to me that everything is essentially a placebo. Yes, there are real effects from something like LSD, right? We can see that your pupils get dilated, there's physiologically we can measure the brain now and see there's a dampening effect, right?

But if you think about our friends in the quantum world, the observer principle, that if you watch something get sent through a double slit, if you're looking for a particle to be a wave, you will see a wave, or if you're looking for, what did they send through there? Was it a photon? I'm a fucking idiot, I don't know. But you know what I'm talking about. If you send the photon through the double slit, if they expect it to find a wave, it was a wave. If they expect it to find a particle, it was a particle. So we know there is an effect on, at least in the quantum world, related to our consciousness and observing it, right?

So this is a powerful idea, because what this essentially means is that we can maybe ascribe, not maybe, we can ascribe certain properties to something. And so I wanna talk a little bit about LSD. We're gonna talk about two ones in particular, but two buddies. I got three buddies. I guess I would throw mushrooms in there too. But my main guys, LSD and weed, cannabis. Jobless, love her. So let's talk about LSD though. Here's what I think happened with LSD. So the story of LSD is there was a Swiss chemist working for Sandos in Switzerland, named Albert Hoffman. Everyone's heard this story of their an LSD fan.

And what happened was, is he was on the 25th synthesis of a chemical called lysergic acid diethlamide, which came from the ergot, which is like a kind of like, it's a fruit, I guess technically, but it's like a gourd type thing. I don't think, I don't know if people eat or, I don't know. It's a mold that comes from this specific thing, which is where they synthesized it from. And he went home, regular day at the job, clocking out, gotta go see my wife. And he goes on his bike and all of a sudden, he has a, I'd say said, all of a sudden, he just, he had a mystical experience, right? Everything started morphing, and melding, and just gone real weird.

Take an LSD, you know what that can be like, if you took like a very high dose, and it's known as bicycle day, it was April 19th. And, ooh, I just realized bicycle day is one day before 420, that's cool. I mean, I knew that, but I didn't put together, that was acid, then we, right back to back. That's cool. Oh, anyway, he's riding the bike. And he has this mystical experience, and he goes, oh, you know, after he kinda comes down, you know, he's just doing, having a total transcendent experience. But he goes, oh, that must be, I must have gotten some of this new chemical on my finger or something.

Even though he wears gloves, he was doing protocol, the chances of that happening, I don't know, man. But he says, okay, maybe I got a little bit. So he goes back and he tests it, and he tests it, and he tests it, and he brings in other people, and sure enough, it demonstrates that it has psychoactive properties. So from there, we have the genesis of LSD. It was used in psychiatry, and it was gonna be used therapeutically, but, you know, some other shit happened. We can get into some other time. But essentially, that's the story of the birth and genesis of LSD. Now, here's what I think happened.

I think all those things happen, those are facts. But I think Albert Hoffman had a spontaneous, mystical experience, nothing to do with LSD 25. But I think because of the experience, and because he imagined that it was due to this LSD 25, he then imbued it with those properties, which I know, it's pretty far out there, right? But if we're taking the idea that imagination precedes materiality, bear with me on this. So he does that, and he's like, all right, okay, it must be this thing, and he even says himself. He's like, I don't know how I got it on me, and it was so incredible, it's so incredibly potent that he was like, oh, okay, well, I guess that makes sense.

But essentially, he goes back and he tests it, and then he brings in other people. So this imaginal act just gets more and more stable by people observing that it's actually doing something. So why this is important is when people take LSD today, it's doing the same thing, that core kind of birthing it into this world, pulling it from another dimensional reality into this world as a mystical kind of substance, a soma, whatever you wanna call it, is pretty powerful, and it can actually help with recognizing the true nature of reality, which is your imagination, and how it creates everything. So let's keep going with this idea that drugs are essentially placebos, and if you've ever taken a lot, a lot of a psychedelic, there is a point when you're in this state where you go, this is who I really am.

Everyone knows what I'm talking about. If you've done it, this is reality, this is real. This is what is actually going on. Well, guess what? You were fucking right, but you know what happened? Is you thought it was a drug? You thought that it was doing something to you, and you thought you came down, right? I know this because one time I took a nominal amount of LSD 15 years ago and didn't come down for three months. This time around, I didn't take any LSD of a quantity at all. Well, that's not drugs, microdosing. But I'm in the fucking state, and I'm not losing it, and it was brought on more than a drug.

Was the realization, from listening to Neville Goddard, from reading it, from having previous direct experiences, that this is real, this is what actually is going on. And when you do this and you make that switch, you begin to change your life. From the inside out and low and behold, the outside world reflects that back to you, even if not immediately. So let's keep going with this idea of drugs and imagination. I mean, come on, drugs are fucking cool if you know how to use them. It's the left-hand path. Bear with me, come down this way. Let's go into the world to find out more about ourselves, not for everyone, but if you're into cool fucking shit, then this is for you.

Let's talk about weed. What is weed? Have you ever, I've spoken about this on the podcast, but have you ever noticed there are some people, many people who when they smoke or they take edibles or too much, quote unquote, their mind goes nuts. It just goes out of control, they get anxious, they get paranoid, they get scared, they start thinking crazy thoughts. So my previous theory was that this was because there's a lot of unconscious material that percolates up. This plant essentially wants to bring all of your fears and doubts and worries to the top so you can address them and deal with them, integrate them, heal them, all of this stuff, right?

And that's what you do if you pick up the phone and take the challenge. But if you don't and you fight it, she's gonna kick your ass. That's basically what happens. So what I now think is the reality of the situation, I think, I know this, is that the, and here's another phenomena, before I get into that, here's another phenomena. People who smoke a lot and just a lot of cannabis take a lot, they know their dreams are typically suppressed, right? You don't dream as much at night. So I have been adapting this idea again from Neville Goddard but adapting it that here's what dreams are. Dreams are essentially undisciplined and unfocused, imaginal acts.

And they can get smooshed together and they can be really confusing, but if you know how to kind of unpack them and place them in the right place in your regular world, place them in the right place, real eloquent, no, but if you know how to do that, they can start to make a tremendous amount of sense. However, if you're using something like cannabis, ritualistically, honorably, ethically, loving it, truthfully, it will reveal itself to you as something that moves your mind naturally in the waking state towards what is the truth, which is this is also a dream, very dreamlike. That doesn't mean don't take things seriously and be an asshole and not have an ethical framework and not try to affect positive change in the world.

That's not what I'm saying. But it shifts your mind into an imaginal realm. And if you know and recognize that this is actually what's going on and you can handle your thoughts because you've been a cannabis connoisseur or you recognize what's really going on. And that's all it takes is recognition. Oh boy, buckle up. No, you know, I am such a big cannabis fan. It's pretty powerful stuff, but you have to get your shit under control before you can effectively use these things. If you use them as crutches, if you use them as something you have to have, if you don't recognize them for their inherent, what is it, placebo, that can't be right, placebo-like nature?

Then you're, if you don't recognize that, you really walk in a dangerous path there because you can make the misapprehension that you need something that's not already in you. And that, you know, when you find that everything is already in you and it's all gonna be okay, you don't turn into like an ascetic monk who goes moves to the cave. If that's what you're thinking, look at me. I'm not listening, I'm not enlightened. I don't believe so. Gosh, that would be quite the revelation. But I know who I am now and I can tell you that I don't, my personality hasn't changed. You can recognize you are God and also be you.

You don't have to fundamentally change who you are. And if you find yourself doing that, you're putting on extra clothes or you're doing this and you're doing that, putting on weird jewelry because some guy told you to do or that's what your weird, cold thing said to deal. You know, just reassess, be yourself, do what you want. You can do whatever you want. You can express yourself in any way you want, but make sure it's you. So yeah, that's basically it. Should I cover anything else? Mushrooms, same thing. Mushrooms to me also though, very earth-based, they're good, again, very keenly observant today, earth-based.

But essentially, if you look at mushrooms, they're tricksters, they're little tricksters, those guys. You know, they're consciously to be able to fully hold on to that energy and not get carried in a direction that maybe you don't recognize you're getting carried in. Ooh, baby. Ooh, baby, those mushies, I still love them. I still do. I haven't taken them in a little bit, but they're great. But anyway, these are all valid tools. They all are real in the sense that people believe that they're real. Therefore, they have imaginal resonance, meaning that they actually have effects, that we can look.

A mushroom trip is super predictable, right? It's like four to six hours, right? And there's a peak time right in the middle there. It's like super easy to see. But outside of that, like, they're not real. They're placebos. All of this shit is in us. I promise you, you will see that. And it doesn't mean you have to stop doing this stuff that works for you. That's true. We'll get into things like, you know, diets and what's holy and what's not in another episode. I really want to address that too, because I think, again, there's a lot of misapprehension about what you need to do to be spiritual.

Some of the most strictest, most strictest, oh gosh, most strict, ethical, compassionate, kind people I know are also sometimes the angriest. Why is that? There's a reason. We'll go over it in another episode. But yeah, I wanted to talk about drugs and imagination because I don't want to give people the impression you pop out of the matrix and all of a sudden you don't care about anything you used to care before. No, you may care about different things and your attentions and your ideas and passions and desires might change, but no, you're still you. You're still you, just also everything else.

Your love, that's all it is. Okay, that's it. I'll see you in a day or two or three or four, who knows? But until then, have a great day and I love you. [MUSIC PLAYING] I can show you the world shining, chilling, splendid. Tell me, princess, now when did he last let your heart decide? I can open your eyes. Check you wonder by wonder, over sideways and under, on a magic open round, a whole new world, a new fantastic void of you. No one to turn that snow, a way to go, or save your own daydreaming world, a dazzling face I never knew, but now from where you're near, it's crystal clear that now I'm in a whole new world.
